How to Reset Your Password

  1. Go to https://uam.kccd.edu.

  2. Enter your Student/Employee User ID or college-assigned email address. If you do not remember your User ID or email address, click Forgot User ID or Email Address, enter your last name, the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number, and your Date of Birth, and then click the Get Student/Employee User ID button.

  3. Click on the Forgot Password button. If requested, enter your last name, the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number, your Date of Birth, and then click the Get Security Question button; otherwise, proceed to Step 4.

    • Note: If you entered incorrect identifying information or your account cannot be located, you will receive an error message. Please check the spelling of your Last Name, the last four digits of your Social Security number, and your birth date, and retry. If you are a student and still receive an error message, please call your campus Admissions & Records office for assistance. If you are an employee, please contact Human Resources.

  4. Enter the answer to your security question and click the Next button.

    • Note: If you do not answer your security question correctly, you will be returned to the Main page and receive an error message. At this point, you will have to click Forgot Password again. If you do not have a security question and your 6-digit DOB did not work for accessing the setup process, you will receive an error message, and you will need to go to Admissions and Records (or Human Resources for employees) with a valid form of ID to get assistance with setting a password for your account.

  5. Enter your desired new password in the New Password AND Verify Password fields. Please note the complexity requirements displayed to the right of the fields.

    • Note: You may be required to select a new security question and answer.

  6. Click the Change Password button. If you successfully changed your password, you should be able to log in to the system.

    • Note: The password you create will be used to log into various systems, including campus computers, email, InsidePortal, Canvas, and other authorized platforms.
